Slow Glow Lamp, available through Molecule

next architects

Next Architects designed Slow Glow Lamp for Droog, from Holland.  The light source is immersed in fat. As the heat of the bulb gradually melts the substance and reveals an intriguing process: the light glows brighter and brighter and the lamp becomes warmer and warmer in a comforting way.

Next Architects are Bart Reuser, Marijn Schenk, Michel Schreinemachers and John van de Water. They trained at Delft University of Technology and teach at a number of educational institutes. Before starting Next Architects, they worked for various leading Dutch architecture firms.
